The Gonden is used as a temporary home for the kami when the main shrine or other buildings are being repaired. It is 70% of the size of the main shrine, and it is made in the Gokensha Nagarezukuri style, an assymetrical gabled roof style with six pillars. It too is a designated important cultural property. The current building is a reconstruction built in 1645.
Mount the stone steps on the left side of the Gonden to reach the entrance to Mt. Inari.
