Okumiya / Byakkosha
At the top of the wide stone steps is the Okumiya, a shrine dedicated to the same Inari Okami as the main shrine. It used to be called the Kamigoten and is made in a different architectural style than the other shrines in the precinct. It also is a designated important cultural property.
Byakkosha
To the left of the Okumiya is an Ikkensha Kasugazukuri-style building called Byakkosha which is square with two pillars. This is the only shrine dedicated to the “white foxes,” the servants of Inari Okami. Long ago, it was called Myobusha and until 1674 was located near where Tamayama Inarisha stands today. This building is also a designated important cultural property.
After paying respects at Okumiya and Byakkosha, walk the path to the right where the large torii gates stand, through Senbon Torii to the Okusha.
